Not Even Basic Images of Players on the Wimbledon Website
Today I was looking at the Wimbledon website and noticed that some of the players in the main draw still dont have a picture of themselves on the site. Wimbledon is the worlds most well known tennis tournament and to think that they cant even get a picture of all 400+ athletes on their website for the tournament is a bit of a disgrace. These pictures are obviously passed down from the ATP or WTA and they dont seem to be updated very often (every decade or so), so how is this a big deal to get done!
Tennis organisations currently seems to lack a lot of effort. Officials are always talking about trying to make tennis more appealing to the broader public, however how can I even support a player if I dont even know what he looks like. From a players point of view it just seem like the fact that you work your ass of to get to Wimbledon main draw and the lazy people cant even get a picture of me on their website. Poor!

The Virtual Tennis Coach Design Concept
Here is an interesting concept. This design is a tennis training tool that is supposed to teach you by acting as a virtual coach.
For one, you’d need some type of 3D accelerometer and lots of fun math calculations for the computer to figure out exactly how the tennis player is swinging then the virtual coach would tell the player to correct him/herself.
Well it does seem like an interesting concept but come on is it seriously going to help someone play tennis, probably not!

Tennis Blogs Actually Worth Reading
Currently there really arent too many good tennis blogs worth reading. Tennis has been slowly decreasing in popularity mainly because tennis is portrayed to be quite boring and not much is known about the actual players. However, these blogs are definitely worth reading so go and check them out!

Wimbledon Raining. Is That A Surprise
As we all know it is only a matter of time before it starts raining at Wimbledon. This year it has done quite well, day 5 is the first time this year the covers had to come out. I was aiming to start The Tennis Times on the first day of the Championships, but we got a little delayed.

That all being said there has been some great action already with Djokovic and Roddick going out of the draw in the early rounds.
I watched the Roddick match the other day and he seemed very lackluster. However the condition were quite poor and very windy, but thats taking nothing away from the consistency shown by Janko Tipsarevic. Djokovic on the other hand played quite well in his second round match again Marat Safin, but the sleeping giant that is Safin pulled a classic performance out of the bag. Safin has always had the talent, but with injuries and lack of focus, he has been the under achiever for a while now. That is taking nothing away from his level of partying, which ive heard he does throw the best parties!

Welcome To The Tennis Times
Welcome to The Tennis Times, a new tennis site that is focused on making tennis a little bit more fun. What can you expect on the site? Well we will be profiling players, talking about tennis news, trying to assist players at all levels and of this from an ex players point of view.
I have been playing tennis since I was about 12 and have traveled all over the world playing in different tournaments, club tennis in Europe and also coaching some up and coming players. I just wanted to write this blog from an ex player point of view to help people understand what goes through a players head and to help up and coming players learn where to play, how to improve and how to make some money.
If you have any question you want me to answer, just head over to our contact page and ask away. I will try to respond to all questions either via email or in an article.
