Australia Fed Cup team mustered its best available players ahead of its tie with Switzerland, anxious to avoid another Mildura ambush.

Wary of Swiss youngster Stefanie Voegele, Australia nom Stosur, minated Sa Jelena Dokic, Rennae Stubbs and Jessica Moore for the April 25-26 clash.

The match will be played on the same grasscourts used in the 1998 upset of a crack Australian Davis Cup outfit by Zimbabwe.

Australia needs to win the tie to continue its path back into the competition’s top class. The task has been made easier by the absence of injured Swiss number 1 Patty Schnyder and Timea Bacsinszky (no.2). But Voegele, 19, is a dangerous, unknown quantity, apparently bound for stardom.

“This young girl is supposed to be an absolute superstar and unpredictable,” Australian captain David Taylor said. “She could be really dangerous and come out and do anything.”

Stosur and Dokic will again play singles.

Should Australia win, it will progress to the competition’s second tie next year and contest a playoff for a return to the World Group in 2011.
