Bethanie Mattek-Sands Looking Terrible at Wimbledon

The New York Times recently did a story about Bethanie Mattek-Sands dressing herself up in soccer-like garb every four years for the World Cup. I think it might also be a bit of a coincidence that Bethanie has been playing terrible tennis and even looking a bit sick, since she got married!

Here again Big Steve writes about a player who is consistently playing more solid tennis week after week. Losing to Sprem in the opening of Wimbledon was not a ground breaking article to let the world know that Mattek-Sands is playing terrible. It was a terrible article letting me know he didn’t even attend the match. I guess Big Steve thought he could mail in his comments and the readers that didn’t attend would take for face value. No, no, no, Big Steve, Mrs. Mattek-Sands played a very solid game. Mattek-Sands played Sprem down to the final serve but left a few openings that Sprem found to her liking. As in any tight match one opening is the difference between a win or a loss. Like his floundering tennis career Big Steve can’t go the distance when it comes to covering the facts. Mattek-Sands getting to the semi-finals in doubles has shown that she is consistently working her way up the ladder. She fell from 37 to 140 due to having hip surgery that crack writers like Big Steve don’t factor in to his blow hearted articles. He above all people should know how difficult it is to get back up the rankings after dropping off. Today’s woman’s tennis is as or more competitive than the hack events that Big Steve floundered about in Europe. I guess that Big Steve is pointing out one thing that the terrible comment is more of a reflection of his writing rather than a reflection of Mattek-Sands Wimbledon’s performance.

Im not exactly too sure why you are calling me Big Steve.. but I kind of like it. I just think Mattek hasnt been playing well for quite some time, even before the injury. We will just have to wait and see where she ends up at the end of the year!
