I must start today’s report by wishing my lovely non-hairy Ewok a very Happy Birthday 🙂

My day began with some Doubles action on Centre Court. The Indo-Pak Express have made it to their first ever Masters 1000 final. They beat Mirnyi/Nestor in straight sets. This was the first time watching the “Express” and they did not disappoint. It is also so good to see two people from countries that have a difficult relationship putting aside those differences and showing that sport can bring people together.

I had a bit of time before Federer v Berdych so I went to the bar for my usual, beer & croissant. What a great match from Roger, right at it from the get go. Serving was on fire today and once he had the break in the very first game it was always going to be an uphill battle for Tomas. The second set pretty much followed the first and I was soon planning plans to fill my time between matches.

Today annoying rant is aimed at those who use flash indoors and during play, turn it off you muppets!!! I am also annoyed with the person sat near me who had his camera set to full volume on the shutter and operation setting. Beep beep, click, click, I’ll give you beep, now bugger off!!

Went to both Tomas’ and Roger’s press conference and managed to keep my nerve and ask two questions to Tomas

Q. Did your match against Murray yesterday have any bearing today? Were you tired out there?
TOMAS BERDYCH: No, no, no. I was feeling good. I mean, even my game was quite well. I mean, just besides those two starts of the two sets, I mean, yeah, those two games; I always lost my serve in the first game.

Yeah, that’s a mistake. But then, you know, I didn’t get any ﷓﷓ a chance at all for break point or anything like that.

Yeah, I mean, he played just too good to me today, and he definitely deserves to go through.

Q. What will you do between now and London? Will you go home or will you just go back on the practice court somewhere?

TOMAS BERDYCH: No, I just need some rest a bit. I am probably gonna come to London probably Wednesday or something like that and getting used to their courts and just starts to practicing there.

So now I’m gonna take few days off. You know, it’s end of the season, and now every day which I can use for relax, you know, treatment, rehabilitation, everything that can help my body to be fit again for the last week, that’s gonna help. I’m looking forward to that.

And one question to Roger

Q. Looking ahead to tomorrow, will you be nervous with it being your first final here?
ROGER FEDERER: Normal. Normal nervous. I don’t know what that is, but I’m always excited before finals. I won’t be more nervous if it’s Jo or John.
For me, it’s another final ﷓ I think maybe my 99th. I’m not sure. Yeah, it’s something that’s always very exciting, even though I’ve played so many already.
I think my experience is going to control my nerves a bit. I hope I get off to a good start. That’s what I’m nervous about.

WooHoo, go me 🙂

Onto court for the 2nd semi final of the day and boy, what a match. 3 sets of drama, tension and great tennis. It could have gone either way but all credit to Jo for a fantastic 2nd set Tiebreak and for saving 3 Match Points in the 3rd set for another Tiebreak. I feel for John but you could see he was very tense especially towards the end of the match. He can go home now and rest before starting his preparations for 2012; at least he does not have to pick himself for another tournament next week, that would have been rough. As for Jo, so so pleased. I was here in 2008 when he won his first and so far only Masters Title, will I be his lucky charm again tomorrow. Just a little word of warning for all Federer fans. Tomorrow will be the 4th time I have seen Roger play in a final:

US Open 2009
Toronto Masters 2010
French Open Final 2011

You kind of get my point; I don’t seem to be much help to Roger. As long as we get a cracking match tomorrow I will be happy whoever wins, although I am 60% 40% for Jo.
