Liezel Huber and Lisa Raymond are on top of the world and have just won the Indian Wells 2012 Womens Doubles title. Huber and Raymond swept aside Mirza and Vesnina in the final 6-2 6-3.

Huber and Raymond have already won the Paris, Doha and Dubai titles in February, so whats an extra title!!

“Right now we’re just playing well,” Raymond said. “When we step on the court we feel the other team is going to have to play really well to beat us, whether or not there are tough conditions. We’ve proven that over the past few weeks. And even if anyone ever thinks we’re down and out, we’ll find a way to win.”

“If we’re ever having a bad moment we try to keep it as short as possible,” Huber said. “Like if I’ve made an error or two errors, I know it’s not permanent, just take two minutes, forgive yourself and move on. Just think of the next game.

“Our run has been unbelievable – we’ve come close to losing at times, but we’ve worked very hard, and the hard work has been showing in our great results.”

Exclusive footage of Maria Sharapova at Fed Cup match in Moscow

Most of us have seen Maria Sharapova playing Fed Cup for her country but have never seen what it’s like when she’s on the sidelines.

Here’s your chance to see the tennis superstar up close and personal at their match against Spain on February 5th. Russia edged it out to win 3-2 and will face Serbia in the semifinals, taking place on April 21-22.

She isn’t as cold and impassive as you thought she would be with the other Russian players, and hopefully this video will reveal a more realistic picture of our favorite Russian beauty.

In the first part of the video, you will see Sharapova mix and mingle with Svetlana Kuznetsova and Anastasia Myskina, as well as meet with Marat Safin. Just so you know, the videos are both in Russian so don’t get too discouraged.

In the second part, it’s mostly her and Kuznetsova talking amongst themselves.

Azarenka still friends with Radwanska after comments

After Victoria Azarenka beat Agnieszka Radwanska in the Doha semifinals, she eventually went on to become champion at the event and have an undefeated record for 2012. However, the Polish number one had some complaints about Azarenka’s on-court antics.

This time it wasn’t about the grunting, but rather about the injury that Azarenka sustained throughout the tournament. Radwanska stated that Azarenka used the injury as a cover-up and was bluffing to everyone about her body health.

Azarenka is known for her no-nonsense attitude and apathy towards fellow players, but showed no sign of anger or resentment towards Radwanka. They are good friends off the court and here is a what she had to say about the situation:

“I still see her as a friend, but what could I do?”

“I wouldn’t have pulled out if I wasn’t hurting. I don’t believe in making comments about opponents. There are so many people on this planet that there are bound to be conflicting opinions and there’s nothing more that can be said.”

Showing signs of coolness towards such rancor might be unusual when it comes to Azarenka, but hopefully she has learned how to control her inner beast and release it only on the tennis court.
