Christina McHale defeated Petra Kvitova 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 on Sunday at the Indian Wells 2012 tournament. This is the biggest win of McHale’s career so far and takes her into the round of 16 in Indian Wells.

“She started off really well, serving really well,” noted McHale. “I couldn’t get a read on her serve in the first set, and I wasn’t moving very well, either.

“And then I just kind of hung in there early in the second, and then she started she played one service game where she gave me a couple of loose errors, and then I just kind of kept hanging in there, and then I got more comfortable as the match went on.
