Fed Cup: 2nd round draw

The draws for the 2009 Fed Cup by BNP Paribas World Group Play-offs and World Group II Play-offs have now been made at the ITF headquarters in London.

The ties will be held the weekend of April 25-26, alongside the World Group semifinals.

(Teams who lost the first round are marked in capital letters)

WORLD GROUP PLAY-OFFS

SPAIN  v Serbia

FRANCE v Slovak Republic

Germany v CHINA

ARGENTINA  v Ukraine

The four winning nations will qualify for the 2010 World Group, while the four losers will start in World Group II in 2010.

WORLD GROUP II PLAY-OFFS

BELGIUM  v Canada

Estonia  v ISRAEL

Poland  v JAPAN

AUSTRALIA v Switzerland

The four winning nations will qualify for World Group II in 2010, while the four losers will start in Zonal Group I in 2010.
