No.16 ranked Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka beat world number 2 Federer yesterday in Monte Carlo in only two sets (64 75). It was their 3rd encounter and Federer won the two previous ones. He never even lost a set against his fellow Wawrinka. Wawrinka is the first Swiss player that beat Federer since former professional Marc Rosset 9 years ago!

Federer was not supposed to play in Monte Carlo this year. But after his rather average and disappointing performances so far this season he decided to apply for a Wild Card in the last minute. In the past years, Federer lost only in the Final against Nadal which means that here again Federer will lose quite a lot of points.

It seems as if Federer’s downfall is going on.
