Jimmy Connors Has Been Arrested at UC Santa Barbara Basketball Game

It has been reported by the ATP tennis blog from the New York Daily News that,

“The tennis legend Jimmy Connors was arrrested on Friday after an altercation with police.  Connors was attending the UC Santa Barbara basketball game and he did not comply with police asking him to leave the front entrance.  This prompting Jimmy to throw one of his classic hissy fits and perhaps he even used Johnny Macs line of “You cannot be serious!”  After a few warnings, police took him into custody where he was booked but then released the same day.  Maybe Jimmy heard the news about Andy’s new coach and was a little upset about it.”

    1. John R. Largent says:

Jimmy Connors should never be compared to John McEnroe. Jimmy was a sneaky bad actor on the tennis court while John always had an honest disagreement with the officials. John was also a much greater talent than Jimmy could ever hope to be. Conners whole game was hit the ball hard and fast from corner to corner until the guy was exhausted. John’s game was serve and volley with the fastest hands in the business. John deserves respect, Conners deserves a kick in the ass.
