Fernando Verdasco will take on Marcel Granollers in the Swiss Open final in Gstaad. Fernando Verdasco pushed through in a very tough three set semifinal with top seed Nicolas Almagro 6-7 7-6 6-3.

While Marcel Granollers won through in three sets that seemed to be one sided at times. Granollers struggled for form at the start of the match but then was able to pull through 3-6 6-3 6-2 against Mikhail Youzhny.

I hope this is a further sign of Verdasco breaking out of whatever slump he’s been in the past year. It seems confidence goes a long way with him.

Completely agree! It seems like his confidence just hasnt been there. He is a great player who could upset a lot of top players, but he needs to believe in himself more on court.
