The Associated Press has broken the news that Maria Sharapova has made the decision to postpone her return to the WTA tour after citing her continuing recorvery from shoulder injury. Maria has pulled out of the upcoming clay court tournaments in Rome and Madrid and it is now going to be interesting to see if plays the French Open.

Steven has been playing at a high level in tennis since the age of 14. He has played numerous world junior events as well as Futures and Satellite events on the ITF Tours. Additionally, Steven has played a lot of club tennis in France and Germany.

Although it is well known of how important Maria is to the WTA, I think we should let Maria decide how she wants to continue on from here, and support decision. I for one love to see very good athletes play their game at their highest level, but it is still her career! Besides, would you really want her back if she did not want to be back?
She’s still entered in Birmingham, which I sincerely hope she plays. There is no need for her to come back on a surface that she hates. She should wait until the grass so she can get confidence and solid results.
