Some things never change. Novak Djokovic is always the comedian! In this video released by Tennis Canada he hits the interviewer in the private parts with the racquet.

Thank you for publishing this. It was really, really time. All die anderen “Superstars” (maybe with the exception of Roger Federer) act like they are involved in something eeeaaaallyy serious. Finally, finally, Djokovic came around. Do you know what? I wish he would never stop making these parodies of other oh-so-serious tennis players.

he may have a record of 52-1 but really a child to do something like that. he will regret it. turn it around and see how much he laughs. he is an obnoxious individual and acts it on the court. if tennis has him as the future, i’ll start watching soccer.

53-1. Go ahead and watch soccer if you can’t appreciate good tennis.

Did you try to analyze yourself? It might be that you are extremely unpleasant individual.

And how is that funny? That guy has no class, the worst Nr.1 we’ve had in a while, with a bunch of hooligan fans jumping on the bandwaggon. He has no respect for anyone, bad manners, and talks a bit too much about his ‘new diet’ for someone with a brain to believe it.
The ‘Joker’ is not the good guy in the game, quite the contrary.

Fortunately, there are lot of people who have different opinion. Otherwise that joke would not make so many people with the good sense of humor laugh. Thank God we have such #1. He respects everyone, that is why other tennis players are very good with him (just pay attention. and you‚ll see what you didn`t want to see). His manners are at high level, otherwise Federer wouldn`t ask him how to greet the Queen. He talks about his diet only when he`s asked about it – and he`s asked a lot.
He is a good guy in and out the game, I hope you`ll meet him someday and see for yourself, that is if you are the good one. You know, it takes one to know one 🙂

Classless. Can you imagine Nadal or Federer doing things like this?

The Insider August 16, 2011 at 7:42 am

I cant imagine they would do that.. no. but thats not their personality. I could see McEnroe doing this however!

Novak is a fearless genius, that’s why. Why talk about class? That’s only for women and gays. Ha3 don’t let jealousy cloud your perception of a person’s character. Besides, considering Novak’s journey in life, only a fool will not admire the strength and good soul behind his smiling face. God chose him , a boy from a war-torn country to be pitted against your classy tennis idols, to become world no. 1 in tennis. In him, God was magnified. Executing that joke you find so offensive only shows his human nature-a sinner. But then, are we not all sinners? Back to your statement, are you classy yourself to be so judgmental? Careful…God knows all our hearts.

Point is–no one likes TO BE like Djokovic; but he tries to learn from others. Hey, is this device allowed in these matches? & WHO taught him that prank??? Shine a little light on the dark aspects of the little djok. Do believe alot to be revealed.

Djoko should b
Have been disciplined. First he uses a gun and his fellow tennis player to let down Rafa Nadal, now this. It is not a joke. They are both offensive. I do not know why ATP let him get away with it. If tiger woods, or Federer, or Nadal or any other famous sports figures do it, they got more attention and criticized by the fans and media alike. This is the worst No.1 I have ever seen, and I have been following tennis for 3 decades. And I have seen some disciplined forOn-court behavior.

Initially I really had a gooood laugh at the so-called obnoxious Novak’s joke; howerver, after reading a numerous comments, I am surprised to learn that most of people don’t think the same way.

It’s too bad that Novak is his own person and is not the kind to always comply to protocols. Did he do it to get attention? Obviously not, his status is an attetion getter already. How about contempt? Well, he is not known for that. What about doing for the sake of fun and worry about consequences later? This is more like it.

Long ago when he was either stuck to number 3 or lower, I watched him immitate Maria’s idiosynscrasy and left dumfounded. Why did this young man take time to practice and eventually can immitate others’ ? I didn’t bother to find the answer because like most people, I thought this young man did it for fun and he was not a household name.

All of a sudden, the tide has changed. Federer is no longer unbeatable and Nadal is proned to injury and those are a perfect recipe for the beautiful appetite: the Serbian one or the Novak appetite.

Being the best is being under heavy scrutiny and being a role model for others. Federrer, Nadal, Samprass… are examples; howerver, Djokovic is not them. He knows he is in the time of his life and not knowing if it is repeated, so he takes the liberty to …be himself, to have fun at the expense of others.

As long as he is on top of others, I think he deserves to be himself as same as previouly he was number 3 or lower.

While I think it’s a bit foolish to look at professional athletes as role models, I’d say he’s a great role model for other players. He has dedicated himself to this sport, and worked very hard to achieve his lifelong goals this year.

Disciplined? by the ATP? I wasn’t aware that off-court pranks fell under their “jurisdiction”.

Novak is a breath of fresh air to the tennis world. Not staid and stuffy like some of his contemporaries. Ok, so some of his Djokes overstep the mark but others are quite funny. I love the embarrassment of the interviewer here as he slowly realizes that the world number 1 tennis player has just deliberately hit his wedding tackle! Keep it up Novak!

This was obviously set up. Lookhow the camera focused right on it.

Reply

Morgan August 16, 2011 at 9:13 pm

Of course it was a set up! I must say, I’m amazed people find this harmless gag so offensive. I don’t think this was at the offense of Jean-René Dufort, a comic television personality in Quebec – indeed, Dufort probably had the idea and asked him to do it. It was great PR for him, a local celebrity.

what do u mean he lack class?? r u comparing him to Federer who’s not comparable with any1 in the world in his classiness or Nadal who obviously lack class with that famous move he does!! besides am really glad Novac is #1 at least he is fun, don’t get me wrong i ADORE Federer but the man is Boooring he doesn’t do anything exceptional neither is Nadal, i think it’s a great thing 4 tennis we could use some humor in it.

If you asked Nadal or Federer to do something like this, they would never do it. They take life to serious. This guy is hilarious.
