Six Women Fight for Australian Open 2012 Title and World Number 1 Ranking

The Australian Open 2012 is the first Grand Slam of the year and it is going to be amazingly exciting. Six players on the womens side have the ability to finish the tournament with the World Number 1 ranking.

Victoria Azarenka, Maria Sharapova, Sam Stosur and Agnieszka Radwanska could also take the top ranking, but the No. 2-ranked Kvitova is the favorite.

Caroline Wozniacki currently holds the top spot, but with her poor run in Grand Slams I doubt highly that she will be number 1 when the tournament ends.

I would hardly call her runs at the slams “poor”, this article seems a little ignorant on the fact that Perta lost first round of the US Open as the 5th seed to a relatively unknown player, she also lsot 4th at the French, sure she has won a grand slam but her runs at slams is incontrovertibly sketchy. This is also seen by her 2nd round tumble against Carla Suarez, so I would watch my words before saying anything

Can anyone please tell me what time Kim Clijsters and V. Azarenka play in the Australian Open. And, if possible could tell in Eastern Standard time.

Thanks, Margaret
