Wimbledon To Also Makeover Court 3 by 2011

A new Court 3 will be built at Wimbledon in time for the 2011 championships.

The new 2,000-seat court will occupy the site of the old Court 2, with work getting under way in July and scheduled to finish by May 2011.

“With its unofficial name of the ‘Graveyard of the Champions,’ old Court 2 has played its part in framing Wimbledon history,” All England Club chairman Tim Phillips said in a statement Friday.

“While acknowledging that contribution, we also have to consider Wimbledon’s future and the time is now right to build a court with all the excellent spectator comforts that people have come to expect at the Championships.”

A new Court 2 is opening at this year’s tournament at another site on the grounds.

Tennis.com Bloody Crashes My Firefox Browser!

For a long time now I have been heading over to Tennis.com every now and then to see what is happening in terms of news in the world of tennis. The site itself normally has quite poor information and the majority of the time they only report on the tennis results. However, I have been noticing for a while now, that when you head over to Tennis.com using a Firefox browser the site instantly crashes, every time! Now considering Firefox is probably the second most used browser in the world and catching Internet Explorer everyday, Tennis.com is losing a huge amount of traffic to their site and also just pretty much pissing everyone off who uses Firefox.
