World number one Caroline Wozniacki has finally hired a new coach to replace her father, Piotr. The Dane announced a couple of months ago that she and her father have decided no to work together on a coaching basis, but didn’t announce the name of her new coach since the announcement.
Her father Piotr accompanied his daughter to tournaments even after they agreed to split, but a Danish newspaper recently announced that her new coach will be Spain’s Ricardo Sanchez.
Wozniacki hasn’t had any luck at the Grand Slam events, and didn’t even reach the semis at the year-ending championships this year. The Spanish coach has stated that his goal will be to get the number one player up to her potential and win the Australian Open next month.
Hopefully Sanchez will be a good coaching match for her and will help her win at least one Slam to consolidate her top ranking in the women’s game. If she is to win a Grand Slam she shouldn’t play so many tournaments throughout the year and make wise choices as to where to play in order to get ready for a Grand Slam. I think Ricardo will help her realize her objectives as a player and maybe we will see an improvement in her game next year!
Here is a picture of what might be Caroline Wozniacki’s dress for the 2012 Australian Open! Plus, there are some more pieces from her collection! Enjoy!

Since Maria Sharapova decided to withdraw from the WTA Tour Championships, this means that Caroline Wozniacki will finish the year as the worlds number 1 female tennis player. Wozniacki had a strong year, but yet again no Grand Slam title to her name! It seems like Wozniacki is very consistent, but lacks the killer instinct in the big matches.
Wozniacki becomes only the 8th women in history to get the number 1 spot in back to back years.

It seems like Caroline Wozniacki has been putting her nose in other people’s business again! Rory McIlroy announced on Friday his split with long time manager Chubby Chandler.
Chandler thinks that McIlroy’s girlfriend could have influenced the shock decision:
I don’t know whether it was his girlfriend (world No. 1 tennis player Caroline Wozniacki) getting in his ear or someone else but I thought we were doing a pretty good job, to be honest, and I think that’s how the outside world saw it.
Sad news of the day! Rory McIlroy has sent a gift to Caroline Wozniacki.

Rory.. Cheesey isnt the right word. I thought you have only been dating the girl a few months and already your giving her gifts with combined names on them. Bad idea!!
Current French Open champion, Li Na has reportedly split with Danish coach Michael Mortensen. The main reason of the split according to the 29 year-old is because she didn’t like his sort of passive, mild and gentle way of coaching.
Mortensen did coach Li Na to her first Slam win in Roland Garros, but the top player of China has experienced a slump during the summer, losing in the second round of Wimbledon and the first round of the US Open. With that being said, Mortensen was also the technical coach of number one ranked Caroline Wozniacki.

It seems like Caroline Wozniacki was in such a happy mood after her win over Svetlana Kuznetsova the other day. So happy that she even joked and imitated Rafael Nadal cramping situation in the Press conference.
Interesting Caroline!
Caroline Wozniacki has made it in to the last 64 of the US Open with a win in her first round. She still doesnt seem to be as confident as she should. Anyways, here is her comments after her first round match and what she needs to do if she plans on competing with Serena Williams and other big hitters.

Caroline Wozniacki is finally finding some form in the lead up to the US Open 2011. Caroline has made it into the semifinals of the New Haven Open with a win over Christina McHale 7-5 6-3. Caroline has finally got a few consecutive wins under her belt, but they still aren’t over other top players.

Wozniacki isnt in the best form at the moment, but Im sure Adidas are hoping she can regain some form before the US Open 2011.

Currently ranked number one Carloine Wozniacki has decided to end her coaching relationship with her father Piotr after her recently poor form at two of the tournaments that make up the US Open Series, Toronto and Cincinnati.
They have discussed the option of going in another direction after her defeat at Wimbledon to Dominika Cibulkova, but the new coach had not yet come on board with Wozniacki so Piotr went to Toronto and Cincinnati with his daughter, as coach. During her recent loss to America’s rising star Christina McHale, Piotr was heard yelling at his daughter when he came on court to coach her. The identity of Caroline’s new coach is yet unknown but is said to be a former touring pro.
Wozniacki has been criticized for playing too defensively and many think that this issue is not helping her win her first Slam, so hopefully her new coach will guide her in a direction that will help her not only to win more matches at regular tournaments, but also make her mark on the Grand Slam scene. Her father has stated that he will support her no matter what and doesn’t hold any grudges regarding the split, only hoping for his daughter’s career to go to the next level.
Wozniacki’s next tournament will be next week in New Haven.
Here is a little video of Rory McIlroy visiting the Western & Southern Open to see Caroline Wozniacki on Sunday. Why cant they just confirm that they are now dating?
