Roger Federer has already left the hard courts behind him and has started training on clay courts. Roger has an upcoming Davis Cup match against the United States this month in Fribourg.

30-year-old Federer is going to play Davis Cup this month at Fribourg, later he will travel to Netherland’s to take part in ABN AMRO World Tennis tournament, which kick off on 13th February.

The replay technology is used only for matches on hard and grass courts. Thus, it will be interesting to see if can be added to clay courts. Plus, with this addition does that mean the ITF will pay for Hawk-Eye to be implemented? or will the clubs or national organisations need to pay?

Alex Corretja has taken over as Spainish Davis Cup Captain. Corretja replaces another former top player as Davis Cup captain, Albert Costa.

“It’s a privilege to be able to captain the best team of players in the world,” said Corretja.

Its all scheduled to be officially announced at a press conference today.

Albert Costa has decided to step down as Spain’s Davis Cup captain. Costa is set to become the coordinator of the Spanish federation’s national teams.

Costa was the captain of the Spanish Davis Cup team for three years and in that time was able to help them lift the title twice.

Costa says “after three fantastic years leading the Davis Cup team, I now look forward to this new challenge.”

Rafael Nadal told DavisCup.com that he is tired in the lead up to the Davis Cup tie between Spain and France.

“I played very long match and for sure it is a challenge for me. I am trying for my country but it’s tough. For me it’s not a mental problem, it’s a physical problem. I am ready to play mentally, but physically two and a half weeks was hard.”
