Roger Federer claimed his fifth Dubai Tennis title on the weekend. Roger defeated Andy Murray in the final. Here are the highlights from the match.

Roger Federer has been expressing his opinions on the Hawk-eye system and he isnt a fan! Roger Federer feels players will be challenging regularly by using Hawk-Eye, where the umpires should be very conscious every time.
Im a fan of Hawk-eye, but players shouldnt be allowed to use it too often and it shouldnt allow players to slow down matches when they know the correct call was made!

Roger Federer has played an amazing final match to take the Dubai title over Andy Murray 7-5 6-4. Federer was in great form especially on his serve in which he won 75 percent of first serve points.
This is Federer’s 72nd career title and now he is 16-2 in 2012. It will be great to see if he can continue this form onto Indian Wells and then into the clay court season.

Andy Murray has had one of the matches of his life defeating Novak Djokovic in Dubai. Murray looked strong from the outset and defeated Novak Djokovic 6-2 7-5.
It is amazing how Andy Murray can pull off such great performances in the lower tournaments, but struggle in Grand Slams to beat the other top players. He has improved his game of late and is a lot fitter since Ivan Lendl started coaching him.

Agnieszska Radwanska has won an amazing final at the Dubai Tennis Championships. Radwanska defeated Julia Georges 7-5 6-4.
“I was pretty close to losing in the first round, so I’m extremely happy right now. Tonight I think I was just better in a couple points, to be honest. In the important moments I was more consistent. The conditions were a little bit difficult during the match, but I stayed calm until the end.
p.s. Congratulations to Julia Georges for an amazing tournament.. she had some great wins and its brilliant to see her playing some great tennis again.

The WTA Tour Board have decided to reject the appeal made by the Dubai organisers on the record $300,000 fine and other penalties. This all stems from Shahar Peer being rejected for a visa by the United Arab Emirates.
In order for the tournament to take place by 2010, the organisers must comply with the penalties imposed by the board.
Aside from the $300,000 fine, the organisers must come up with a $2 million financial guarantee by July this year plus ensuring that qualified players from Israel will get their UAE visas at least eight weeks in advance.
