Dunlop Biomimetic Max 200G Racquet

There was a very interesting review of the Dunlop Biomimetic Max 200G Racquet posted on our forum. The Dunlop is a McEnroe designed racquet so you expect it to be great at net, but this racquet also provides great control from the baseline. This is not a pro-level racquet, but great for the mid-level player.

Ball Wars: Dunlop False Advertising Claims Head and Penn

It looks like tennis is heading to a different type of court!

Two of the world’s leading tennis ball manufacturers are locked in a dispute over claims made by one in an advertisement.

On Monday 30 April, HEAD USA Inc. and Penn Racquet Sports Inc. filed a claim of false advertising against Dunlop International Ltd. and Dunlop Sports Group Americas Inc.

The lawsuit claims that Dunlop mislead the public in regards to advertising their tennis balls as the “World’s No. 1 Ball”. They also claimed to hold 70% of the tennis ball market. Penn argue that both claims made are false.

Neither of the two companies were available to comment on the lawsuit but hopefully this will not be dragged through the courts.

Dunlop Launch Their New Website: Back in Business!

Dunlop has just launched their updated website and it looks a lot better than previous versions. The new Dunlop site showcases their team and all the rackets, accessories, baggage that Dunlop has for tennis.

Im a really big fan of the full browser experience and its great to see that Dunlop has adopted social media with the inclusion of their Twitter, Facebook and YouTube profiles. Im also loving the new player profile, but they are going to have to change the design again when they add more players to their roster.

Its great to see Dunlop back and taking tennis more seriously. Maybe not they can drop me an email and sponsor our site!

Fernando Verdasco Signs with Dunlop

Dunlop has announced Fernando Verdasco as the latest tennis star to join as a brand ambassador. Verdasco has signed an international contract for racquets, strings and accessories, while also agreeing to play a key role endorsing Dunlop’s junior talent identification program – D-Squad.

“Becoming a brand ambassador for Dunlop is a very proud moment for me and I look forward to joining the great players already associated with the brand.,” said Verdasco. ”I am continuing to work hard and with help from Dunlop I hope to be able to make this my most successful year to date.” 2009 was pretty good to the guy. Guess at this level it really doesn’t matter what racquet got him to the top (Yonex). Money talks.

Barry Leach, MD of Dunlop Sport said: “Fernando is a world class addition to Dunlop and exemplifies the quality we look for at the brand,” said Barry Leach, MD of Dunlop. ” He plays an exciting style of tennis and, if he can build on last year’s performances, I would expect him to be a main fixture in the ATP top ten this year.”

Verdasco will immediately commence testing of Dunlop’s new 2011 technology. Stay tuned for his choice. Verdasco wears adidas apparel and footwear on court.
