It seems like the Adidas Tennis website really didnt do their research as they were showing Twitter messages from a Fernando Verdasco account that was a fake!

Former world number one Andy Roddick has withdrawn from the Rogers Cup which is also known as the Montreal Masters. Andy has cited that he has an injured oblique muscle, making it the second week in a row that Roddick withdrew from an event. Roddick has been bothered by injuries over the past two years, and was forced to pull out of Roland Garros about two months ago with a shoulder injury.
A local Montreal newspaper also reported that world number five Robin Soderling has also withdrawn from the event with a wrist injury. Among others who have opted out of the tournament include Jurgen Melzer (quad), and Xavier Malisse (personal).
After losing in the 3rd round of Wimbledon to Feliciano Lopez and then playing Davis Cup, Roddick has not played since and was forced to withdraw from this week’s tournament in Washington. Luckily, he hasn’t got any points to defend at Montreal since he has also pulled out from from the tournament last year. He should be able to compete at the Cincinnati event the week after Montreal and has sent a message about his return on Twitter: ”Hopefully I’ll be ready for cincy in 10 days or so…. Fingers crossed.” Let’s hope Andy will make it to the Cincy event since he does have 360 semifinal points to defend there, and also will make an appearance at the new tournament in Winston-Salem, NC just before the last Grand Slam of the year (US Open).
Well, it is a pity that some of the best players in the world have cancelled their appearance at Montreal but there are still plenty more great players who should make up for it.
There have been a lot of fun comments this Wimbledon about the love affair between Judy Murray (Andy Murray’s mum) and Feliciano Lopez. Judy just thinks Feliciano is the best looking guy on the planet (Fabio-esq).
Here is what Andy has to say about his mum’s twitter messages.

ANDY MURRAY: I think it’s about time she stopped with that nonsense. Makes me want to throw up. It’s disgusting. Yeah, it’s disgusting.
I was practising with him before the tournament. It’s quite funny because she’d been writing about it on, you know, Twitter like all the time. And I was practising with him before the tournament and my mom was on the side.
I said, when we were warming up, I shouted across the net, I said, Feli, if we sit down for a drink, if you could take a picture with my mom, because she thinks you’re beautiful.
She went bright red. I’m not doing it. I’m not doing it. Refused to take the picture. Quite funny. Not like her.
Yeah, I hope she’ll still be supporting me.
Mens Singles:
Well the French Open 2011 Day 2 had a great deal of expectations, with Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic in action. Federer and Djokovic didn’t disappoint.
Roger Federer had a tough first round match against Feliciano Lopez and it seemed that Federer was always up for the challenge. Roger played very solid and it seemed like Lopez couldnt really handle the pressure. Roger won in a very close straight set match 6-3 6-4 7-6.
It was a very similar story for Novak Djokovic. Djokovic is on an amazing run in 2011 and is still undefeated. Novak was up against Thiemo De Bakker a young Dutch player who seemed a little to eratic on the clay. Novak won the match 6-2 6-1 6-3.
In most of the other mens singles matches today the favoured players got through, apart from Tomas Berdych (6) who fell to Stephane Robert of France in an amazing five set match. 3-6 3-6 6-2 6-2 9-7.
Womens Singles:
On the womens side there were a lot of strong performances from the top players. Caroline Wozniacki, Marion Bartoli, Francesca Schiavone, Vera Zvonareva and Petra Kvitova all won.
The only upset of the day was Nadia Petrova (26) who lost in three tough sets, 6-7 6-3 6-4.
Overall:
It was a great day for all the main seeds as a whole they performed very well. The outstanding players of the day Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Francesca Schiavone.
Schiavone looked very strong in her match today. She didnt play amazingly well, but she played very solid on the clay and looked at home. If I was a betting man I would pop a few quid on Schiavone to get back to back titles.
Joma has a few top players heading up their Tennis division, such as Juan Carlos Ferrero and Feliciano Lopez, but are the really making head way in the tennis industry?
Founded in 1965, Joma broke onto the tennis scene in 2008, signing Lopez to a multiple year contract. Do Joma really need to focus more on signing some more top players or should they just just try to actually produce quality clothing?
Joma is a key brand in football, which is very competitive market, so diversification is a great idea.
It is now rumoured that the relationship between Feliciano Lopez and Maria Jose Suarez is now over, Maria confirmed this with Hola! magazine. Maria also confirmed that she was pregnant and that she will raise the child as a single mother.
Now a Portuguese magazine has reported that Maria has been secretly meeting footballer/playboy Cristiano Ronaldo in the past few months. To make it even more complicated, Lopez was said to have an affair with Ronaldo’s ex-girlfriend Marisa Sandoval! They were seen cuddling in Madrid at the end of last year.
Im wondering now what the next rumour will be!
Tennis star Feliciano Lopez and his girlfriend, María José Suárez, are rumored to be expecting their first child. Nothing has been confirmed from the couple however stories have been written in Spain about Saurez’s pregnancy.
Suarez, a former Miss Spain in 1996 and current TV personality, has been dating Lopez on and off for the last five years. From reports, the 30-year-old Suarez is now anywhere from 5 weeks to two months pregnant with her first child.
Although stories are now emerging the couple is again having problems. (What could it be now?)
