Martina Navratilova is a Joke with Recent Comments About Caroline Wozniacki

Martina Navratilova is known for having stupid opinions on pretty much everything, but it seems like she has now overstepped the mark with comments about Caroline Wozniacki.

Wozniacki has commented with the following statement:

“I would never say Martina was number one when there was no-one playing,” Wozniacki said, “or that she was the best when no-one was playing. That would be disrespectful.”

“They always have to make comments, and that’s what they get paid for – to be comments, because they are not playing any more. And they need to stir everything up,” Wozniacki said.

Martina Navratilova has come out on record to say that she doubts the performance of Maria Sharapova and expects that Victoria Azarenka and Petra Kvitova will be the best players on the WTA and will have a very strong rivalry.

Martina Navratilova States the Obvious! Caroline Wozniacki Wont Be the Number 1 Player in the World After Australian Open 2012

Martina Navratilova is really good at stating the obvious. She stated that Caroline Wozniacki might lose the number 1 world ranking.. well of course she is going to! It will be interesting to see who is the number 1 female player in the world after the Australian Open 2012.

p.s. Wozniacki really needed to get close to winning a Grand Slam to deserve the number 1 spot, but it never happened for her!

Martina Navratilova Says Margaret Court’s View are Outdated!

Martina Navratilova and Margaret Court dont have the same views on gay marriage, but Navratilova is still happy to play on Court’s cout at the Australian Open.

“It’s an honor, as always, to be on that court,” Navratilova told reporters. “It’s a personal issue. Clearly Margaret Court’s views that she has expressed on same-sex marriage, same-gender marriage, I think are outdated. But it’s not about any one person. It’s not about religious rights, it’s about human rights. It’s a secular view, not a religious view. She’s only seeing it from one viewpoint. I think it goes outside of tennis.”

Margaret Court needs to get her head out of the sand and get with the times!

Martina Navratilova and Lindsay Davenport have Signed Multiyear Contract Extensions with Tennis Channel

Grand Slam champions Martina Navratilova and Lindsay Davenport have signed multiyear contract extensions with Tennis Channel.

Both are part of the channel’s coverage of the Australian Open, which starts in a week.

Navratilova will continue to be Tennis Channel’s lead match analyst in Melbourne. Davenport will work for the cable network at the season-opening major tournament for the first time, including sideline reporting.

Martina Navratilova Released from Hospital

Martina Navratilova has been released from hospital, she spent three days after her fluid-filled lungs forced her to abandon her attempt to climb Africa’s highest mountain.

The 54-year-old tennis great was carried down Mount Kilimanjaro on a stretcher Thursday night and Friday morning. Navratilova said she knew by Wednesday she wouldn’t be able to reach the summit of the 19,340-foot mountain in Tanzania.

“I didn’t feel badly, I just couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t get a full breath of air,” Navratilova said shortly her release from the Nairobi hospital, where she was treated for high-altitude pulmonary edema. “Nothing hurt, and for an athlete that’s weird. Nothing hurt but I (couldn’t) go on.”

Navratilova Diagnosed with Breast Cancer

Martina Navratilova is probably the biggest ever name in womens tennis, and it has been reported that the star has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Her prognosis is said to be excellent.

People magazine’s website posted a story Wednesday quoting Navratilova saying “I cried” after being informed of the diagnosis following a routine mammogram.

The report says the 53-year-old Navratilova had a lumpectomy and will begin six weeks of radiation therapy next month. It added that the nine-time Wimbledon women’s singles champion was diagnosed with a non-invasive form of breast cancer called ductal carcinoma in situ, or DCIS.

British tennis players are soft and spoiled, according to Wimbledon legend Martina Navratilova, and that is the main reason for the country’s shortage of top talent. Apart from the obvious exception of Andy Murray, who left home as a teenager to learn his craft in Barcelona, too many have coaching and facilities presented to them on a plate without enduring the hardships that make champions.

Ivanovic has seen a slide in her ranking ever since she reached the number one spot for a short time last year. Currently Ivanovic is ranked 13th in the world after she lost a whole load of points from her French Open performance.

While searching for a new coach, she will use temporary coaches for Eastbourne and Wimbledon later this month.
