It has been reported that Rafael Nadal has purchased a new beachside house in the exclusive residential complex Playa Nueva Romana in the Dominican Republic.
The community will have “1,200 luxury homes, a marina, a five-star hotel, and an 18-hole golf course. This new development represents an investment of more than US$180 million and covers an area of 620 acres of coconut groves, just 45 minutes from Santo Domingo’s international airport.”

It has been reported by the Herald Sun that Lleyton and Bec Hewitt have just purchased a new house in the Bahamas. Tennis pros pay tax in the country where they earn prizemoney and also to the Australian Tax Office. However, the Bahamas is a bit of a tax haven.
Previously Pat Rafter was based in Bermuda for much of his career – and was criticised on becoming Australian of the Year, as Bermuda is a tax haven.
The Hewitt’s are planning on spending Australian winters in the Bahamas, its a tough life for some. Woman’s Day, who the Hewitt’s love, also reports this week on Bec’s misery at being forced to leave Australia to live in a luxurious gated community thousands of miles from loved ones.
The house itself was purchased for $3.8 million and is a four bedroom, four bathroom waterfront villa at Old Fort Bay.
