Why Cant I Watch Future and Challenger Tours on TV or Web?

I have always wondered why the lower level tours dont actually get any TV time. I have noticed here in the UK that tennis is pretty much never on TV, except Grand Slams. In the USA they have the Tennis Channel, but why has the Tennis Channel not got onto Sky yet? Additionally, how come they never cover the lower level tours, like Futures and Challengers? There could be some interesting pieces on finding the next Roger Federer or Raphael Nadal, but they seem to have such a narrow focus.

All about money. But there are some ways to make money to cover these lower end tennis tournaments. If tennis fans watch without commentators and with only one camera which no cameraman is needed. If someone set one camera and connect to internet, that’s it. I always wonder why no one starts this business. It will be a big demand, I’m sure.

Yeh I think you are right. Maybe there is a market for this. Plus, it would bring in a lot more viewers to the game. Additionally, players could use this service to keep track of scouting, etc.

Great site! Lots of interesting articles…thanks for starting this.

I definitely agree that someone should start an online presence for the futures/challenger tournaments. How much could that cost? Probably would take some backing from sponsors to get it done.

@PaulaV Yeh im sure it would cost a fair bit to get off the ground. However, shouldnt be that hard to get sponsors involved!
